Using these Procedures (CIS)
The Southampton Community Independence services (CIS) are multi-disciplinary teams who work with clients to assist and support in achieving their independence and well-being.
Clients are expected to actively participate in achieving goals by practicing skills/exercises in between visits.
Practitioners at CIS include:
- Physiotherapists;
- Occupational therapists;
- Occupational therapy assistants;
- Associate practitioners;
- Independence advisers;
- Social workers;
- Support workers;
- Consultants in older persons medicine;
- Administrative staff.
These procedures are for local authority practitioners involved in arranging reablement, providing equipment and assessing any long term needs for care and support. Other practitioners should refer to available guidance outside of this site.
